"This is a 30 watt/class AB valve amplifier, handcrafted in England. It uses EL 34 tubes on the output stage. Anyone familiar with this valve knows they are much sought after for their sweet harmonics. Tube sockets are hard wired to the circuit board to guarantee reliability and isolate other components from heat stress, thus making Romulus an exceptionally reliable and durable piece of equipment.
Exterior stainless steel panels retain their high-gloss finish, as does the high-gloss black chassis. The fit and finish is like a piece of jewelry with a chromed faceplate and an on/off knob. Very elegant in both sound and build. Although Romulus has a dynamic quality, it retains the smooth response inherent in all CR amplifiers, reproducing the gentlest passage or most strident orchestration with equal ease.
